The Albert Schweitzer School in Leipzig is a public all-day school in the city of Leipzig for the physically disabled . The students are taught in nine to eleven grade levels. The focus of support is physical and motor development, an area for learning support is integrated,

School structure

The aim of the school is to actively involve physically handicapped children and young people in interaction processes.

The guiding principle is a saying from Albert Schweizer: "Good is, preserve life, promote life, bring developable life to its highest value."

The school is divided into a primary and high school part , as well as a part for the learning disabled and for the physically handicapped with all-day courses . Every student has the option of using a transport service to get to school. The form of the all-day offer leaves more space for the inclusion of therapeutic, medical and hygienic measures, as well as special educational support in everyday teaching.

Funding circles and working groups are integrated into the timetable.

The timetable for all classes includes two hours of exercise and one hour of swimming per week. Swimming lessons take place in indoor swimming pools in the city of Leipzig.

Since March 1991 the school has been financially supported by a sponsoring association, which also helps to organize the Christmas singing and the school carnival .
