Albert Bürklin

Albert Bürklin (born April 1, 1816 in Offenburg ; † July 8, 1890 in Karlsruhe ) was a builder , engineer and writer as well as a liberal member of the Baden state parliament in Karlsruhe.

Live and act

Albert Bürklin was a wealthy landowner and father of the later member of the state and Reichstag as well as the Karlsruhe theater manager Privy Councilor Albert Bürklin . Bürklin worked as a railway inspector in the civil service until 1858. He was then appointed head of the Karlsruhe Railway Authority. Bürklin planned the route of the Maxau Railway, which was built under his aegis from 1860 to 1862.

Albert Bürklin was buried in the main cemetery in Karlsruhe . The Bürklin'sche mausoleum in the General Cemetery was given by his son in order and the family served until 1963 as a burial site.
