Albert Giese (architect)

Albert Giese (born May 14, 1851 in Altena , Westphalia ; † December 1, 1944 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German architect .

Life

Albert Giese he was the eleventh child of Friedrich Giese and Marie Elisabeth Giese born. Berkenhoff from Altena in the Westphalian Sauerland .

First Albert Giese completed an apprenticeship as a baker and then moved to Halle with his brother Ernst Heinrich. Before moving, Giese married Marie Leopoldine Gertrude Gläsner and had three children with her, including the art historian Leopold Giese as the second child . Albert Giese and his brother Ernst Heinrich Giese founded the atelier for architecture and applied arts / construction in Halle in 1883 and ran it until 1922. Giese died in 1944 and was buried in Halle's north cemetery. The grave site no longer exists.
