Albert Krassnigg

Albert Krassnigg (* 1896 ; † May 1971 ) was an Austrian educator .

Life

Albert Krassnigg possessed the qualification to teach citizens schools and 1945 was director of the Vienna Pedagogical Institute . From 1924 to 1934 he was the head of the Pedagogical Central Library in Vienna, from 1946 to 1961 Vienna State School Inspector and Head of Department I of the Vienna City School Council . Krassnigg was considered to be close to the SPÖ and, as co-editor and main author, alongside Anton Simonic, played a key role in the creation of the Austrian dictionary . Together with Simonic, he was also the editor of the educational journal Education and Teaching . He also wrote numerous textbooks. He was in correspondence with the philosopher Karl Popper .
