Albert Lemaitre at the Petit Journal race Paris Rouen

Albert Lemaître (* 1864 in Ay ; † May 7, 1906 in Paris ; also known as Georges Lemaître ) was a French racing driver. He was the official winner of the first car race (Paris- Rouen ), organized by the Petit Journal in 1894 - although it came as second to the finish, as the steam car of Comte Albert de Dion did not meet the criteria of the organizer. From 1894 to 1902 Lemaître took part in several car races.
