Albert Polzin
Albert Emil Polzin (Polish Albert Polcyn ; born February 3, 1870 in Stargard (?), Pomerania , † 1954 in Poznań , Poland ) was a German organ builder in Poznan.
Life
His father Karl Michael Polzin (1834–1908) had been an organ builder in Stargard since 1860. Albert learned from him and worked for the company Schlag & Söhne in Schweidnitz in Silesia from 1890 (1892) . In 1900 he opened his own workshop in the then German town of Posen , but worked closely with Schlag & Söhne and was affiliated with it as a branch from 1907 to 1909. In 1917 Albert Polzin confiscated metal pipes from organs on behalf of the German military.
In 1920 he stayed in the now Polish Poznań and changed his name to Albert Polcyn . In 1924 he built a new factory. Even after 1945 he stayed in the city. In 1954, after his death, his son Robert Polcyn (1913–?) Founded the Organoton company , which was dedicated to the repair and maintenance of organs, grand pianos and harmonies. This is continued by his son Ryszard Polcyn (* 1954).
