Albert Salm

Albert Salm (born January 8, 1882 in Stuttgart , † July 18, 1950 in Bad Cannstatt ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Albert Salm was born the son of a day laborer. After attending primary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith from 1896 to 1899 . Around 1900 Salm joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).

From January 1919 to June 1920 Salm was a member of the SPD in the Weimar National Assembly , in which he represented constituency 31/32 (Württemberg). From 1919 to 1927 Salm was chairman of the local SPD association in Stuttgart.

During the time of National Socialism, Salm worked underground against the regime, which is why he was finally arrested and temporarily held in a concentration camp .
