Albert Schmidt (playwright)

Albert Schmidt (born September 3, 1836 in Güstrow , † September 30, 1912 in Schwerin ) was a German lawyer, writer and playwright.

Life

Albert Schmidt attended the Güstrow Cathedral School before studying law in Göttingen , Berlin and Rostock from 1855 . In 1860 he was a lawyer in Güstrow and in 1863 he passed the judge's examination. In the 1870s, he practiced as a magistrate , the lower courts of several knightly estate districts around Güstrow, including in Langhagen, Marienhof and Steinbek (Official Goldberg) and Knegendorf (Official Güstrow). In addition, he was a syndic ( court employee ) of the city of Güstrow. When the new judicial system was introduced in Mecklenburg-Schwerin as a result of the Reich Justice Acts in 1879, Albert Schmidt was appointed regional judge in Schwerin. In 1890 he was appointed regional court director at the Schwerin regional court . Since 1910 he was the holder of the house order of the Wendish Crown .
