Albert Tréca

Albert Georges Gérard Tréca (born November 4, 1917 in Mouriez , † June 17, 2004 in Condette ) was a French diplomat . He was ambassador to Niger , Ethiopia , Australia and the Philippines .

Life

Albert Tréca was the son of a notary . He went to the prestigious Collège Passy-Froyennes to school. He completed his law studies with a doctorate . Tréca joined the French general residence in Morocco in 1946 . From 1956 he worked in the Department of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris . In 1958 he became second counselor at the French embassy in Libya . In 1962 he returned to his previous job in Paris.

Tréca received the post of Ambassador of France to Niger in 1964, which he held until 1968. In the same year he became head of cabinet of the Undersecretary for Cooperation and the following year head of cabinet of the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs. Tréca took over the post of French ambassador again in 1971, first in Ethiopia until 1975 and then in Australia from 1975 to 1978. His last position was from 1980 to 1983 as French ambassador to the Philippines.

Albert Tréca had been married since 1946. The couple had six children.
