Albert Waldenspul (born April 25, 1885 in Wald (Hohenzollern) , † February 22, 1979 in Hechingen ) was a Roman Catholic pastor , local researcher and art historian .

Albert Waldenspul graduated from the high school in Sigmaringen as a pupil of the local Fidelishaus , as is usual with the Hohenzollern regional children . He then studied theology in Freiburg . After being ordained a priest on July 6, 1910, he was vicar in Hechingen , chaplain in Veringendorf and pastor there since 1914, then in Gruol (1920), Bad Imnau (1936) and Melchingen (1943), where Waldenspul was granted honorary citizenship in 1960 on the occasion of his golden jubilee as a priest was awarded. Retired in 1961, Waldenspul stayed in Melchingen until his death in 1979. He died in the hospital in Hechingen and was buried in Melchingen.

Pastor Waldenspul was a popular pastor who was held in high regard. After studying theology in Freiburg, which included lectures on art history with Joseph Sauer , he attended Georg Weise's seminar on art history in Tübingen . The result was the publication on the wooden sculpture of the Lauchert valley in Hohenzollern as well as the contributions on Haigerloch in the "Hohenzollern Art Monuments". With more than 70 essays on the history of art in Hohenzollern, Waldenspul contributed to the safeguarding of the historical legacy, which he asserted for life, especially through tireless lectures.

Albert Waldenspul was also active in the Swabian Alb Association. In 1918, despite inflation and great hardship, he was their first shop steward when founding the Veringendorf branch.
