Bad Imnau is a district of Haigerloch in the Zollernalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ). It is 397  m above sea level. NN and has 583 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2017). The only health resort in the Zollernalb district is six kilometers northwest of Haigerloch in the Eyachtal .

history

The Reichenbach Monastery became the largest landowner in Imnau through donations . The place came in 1381 with the rule of Haigerloch to the House of Habsburg , which gave it as a fief to the Lords of Weitingen in the 15th century . In 1516 Imnau was sold to the Counts of Zollern . In 1576 the place came back to Haigerloch during the division of Zoller.

Imnau had 440 inhabitants in 1824, 591 in 1836 and 507 in 1890.

Bad Imnau was incorporated into the town of Haigerloch on August 1, 1973.

Mineral springs

Around 1700, the doctor Samuel Caspar discovered small spring pots of bubbling mineral acid in the valley floor of the Eyach. In 1733 the Prince's Spring, named after Prince Josef Friedrich von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen , was exposed . In the same year he had the princely building built in Bad Imnau. At that time only he and his court were able to enjoy the bathing and drinking cures. Soon afterwards, the mineral water was filled into clay jugs and brought to the customers in horse-drawn vehicles. The distribution area gradually extended to Augsburg , Stuttgart and Zurich . In 1804 the general spa business was started under the well doctor Franz Xaver Mezler .

In 1905, the Pope family caught the Apollo spring in Imnau, which was sold to Carl Haegele, a councilor of commerce , the following year . In 1923, the Apollo source came into the possession of Mineralbrunnen Überkingen-Teinach-Ditzenbach AG , which sold it to Imnauer Mineralquellen in 2009.
