history

The first written mentions of sources of the current company go back to the 12th and 13th centuries. In addition to drinking and bathing on site, there was a trade in southern Germany in the 16th century with the help of so-called "Sauerbrunnträger".

In 1896, Kommerzienrat Karl Haegele from Geislingen bought the Überkinger bath and hotel building and expanded the bottling and shipping facilities. In 1918 the "Bad Überkinger Kurhaus- und Mineralwasserbetrieb deutscher Gastwirtte GmbH" was founded. In 1923 the "Bad Überkinger Kurhaus und Mineralwasserbetrieb deutscher Gastwirte GmbH" merged with the Imnau ( Hohenzollern ) branch and the owners of the Teinach mineral springs, the "Mineralbrunnen Überkingen-Teinach AG". In 1926 there was another merger with the well in Bad Ditzenbach and the name was changed to "Mineralbrunnen Überkingen-Teinach-Ditzenbach AG". In 1927 the "Remstalquellen GmbH" based in Beinstein was taken over (closed in 2008).

In 1957 the Apollo sources in Bad Imnau were expanded (sold in 2009). In 1980 the Kisslegger Quelle was taken over, in 1989 the Mühringer Schlossquelle (sold in 2009), in 1991 the Güstrower Schlossquelle in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (sold in 2007) and in 1995 the Fachinger Quelle . The company has been listed on the stock exchange since November 27, 1986 .

The company has owned the trademark rights to Bluna for Western Europe and neighboring Eastern European countries since 1994, and the worldwide trademark rights to afri cola since 1999 . In 2001 Mineralbrunnen AG began introducing PET containers. In 2008 the fruit juice company Tucano Holding GmbH from Merzig (later renamed Niehoffs Vaihinger Fruchtsaft GmbH) was acquired. At the end of 2010, Mineralbrunnen Überkingen GmbH was sold to the ProAqua GmbH investor consortium. The fixed assets of the GmbH include the production site in Bad Überkingen including the source rights, the bottling plants and the trademark rights for the products Überkinger , Ü and Adelheidquelle . In June 2011 the Fachinger fountain was sold to Sinalco GmbH from Duisburg. Also in June, the KAMPOS Vertriebs GmbH, based in Lauterecken, was founded as a sales unit for the support of the food retail trade.

With effect from December 31, 2011, the company acquired a 45.00% stake in Karlsberg Service GmbH. The company, which belongs to the Karlsberg Holding , will in future take over administrative activities for Mineralbrunnen AG. In March 2012, as part of an asset deal on April 1, 2012, the Bad-Hotel Bad Teinach and the mineral thermal baths were sold to HotelThermeTeinach GmbH & Co. KG in Pforzheim, which is owned by the entrepreneur Wolfgang Scheidtweiler . On February 10, 2016, the company was converted from a stock corporation into a GmbH & Co. KGaA.
