Albertine Maria Countess of Montenuovo (born May 1, 1817 in Lugo , Emilia-Romagna , † December 26, 1867 at Castello di Fontanellato in Fontanellato , Province of Parma ) was an Austrian noblewoman from the Montenuovo family , who came from the relationship of the wife of Napoléon Bonaparte , Marie-Louise of Austria , with the Austrian general and statesman Count Adam Albert von Neipperg .

biography

Albertine Maria was the eldest daughter of four children of Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria (1791–1847) - former Empress of the French and Duchess of Parma , Piacenza and Guastalla - and her lover, the Austrian general and statesman Count Adam Albert von Neipperg ( 1775–1829) from the family of the Counts of Neipperg . Her maternal grandparents were Emperor Franz II / I. and his second wife, Princess Maria Theresa of Naples-Sicily .

Although her mother was still the wife of Napoléon Bonaparte , she gave Neipperg three children. They gave the children to a doctor named Dr. She no longer cared about Rossi and her first-born son from Emperor Napoléon I. Napoleon Franz Bonaparte, Duke of Reichstadt. Napoléon Bonaparte died on May 5, 1821 on St. Helena . Three months later, his widow gave birth to a son, later General Wilhelm Albrecht von Montenuovo (1821–1895). The children's father, Count Neipperg, did not marry ( marriage on the left ) Marie-Louise until 1822. The existence of the children initially remained a carefully guarded secret in the palace of Parma. Even later, after her mother had come to Vienna for a written "confession" , the dates of the birth and marriage were kept in the dark. Her grandfather in Vienna, Emperor Franz II, legitimized the illegitimate grandchildren. Neipperg - Neuberg - became the Italian name »Montenuovo«.

On October 26, 1833 Albertine Maria was married to the older Italian general Luigi Sanvitale, Conte di Fontanellato e di Nocetto (1799–1876). The marriage, which all reports said was harmonious, had four children:

  • Alberto (1834–1907), Conte di Fontanellato ⚭ 1869 Laura Malvezzi de Medici (1845–1876)
  • Maria (* / † 1836)
  • Stephan (1838-1914), Conte di Fontanellato
  • Luise (* / † 1840)
