The Versluys Arena is a football stadium in the Belgian seaside resort Ostend , West Flanders Province . It is the home ground of the KV Ostend football club .

history

The sports facility in the Mariakerke sub-community has been the home of KV Ostend since 1981 and is not far from the North Sea beach . After renovations, the stadium, which was built in 1934, offers a total of 8,432 seats from the 2016/17 season.

After a renovation in 2007, the Versluys Arena meets the requirements of the Belgian first division . The stadium's spectator seats are completely covered. The glazed boxes with the business seats are located on the upper area of the main stand D. The opposite grandstand with tiers A and B, which was built in 2016, has 3,700 seats, a third of which are business seats. Ranks D7 to D9 in the opposite stand are available to guest fans, as are the standing ranks E4 to E6 behind the gate. Behind the grandstand, free parking spaces have been created for visitors on the site of the former media center.

In July 2016, the Albertpark Stadium received the sponsor name Versluys Arena after the construction company Versluys Bouwgroep . The three-part main stand was replaced within six months by a continuous spectator tier with 3,700 seats (expandable to 3,800). Most of the stadium modernization is now complete.

Behind the main stand in the immediate vicinity is the Versluys Dôme with 4,779 seats, where the successful basketball club BC Ostend plays its home games. Additional (paid) parking spaces can be used there.
