Albi GmbH is a German fruit juice manufacturer whose products are on sale in various European countries. Subsidiaries are Berghüler Fruchtsaft GmbH ( Berghülen ) and Multi12 GmbH ( Magdeburg ).

Company history

The company was founded in 1928 by Hans Rösch (senior) in Bühlenhausen . In 1949 the products were already being sold nationwide. In 1960, a second plant went into operation in Hochdahl , but it was closed again in 2003. In 1991 another production site was added in Magdeburg (Multi12), which was closed in autumn 2015.

With an annual turnover of around 83 million euros, albi is one of the leading producers of fruit juice in Germany. Since 1997 albi juices have also been exported to other European countries. 2008 its complete range of products and the corporate logo has a albi relaunch subjected.

In December 2017, Albi was taken over by Edeka . Production, which was temporarily suspended before the takeover, has since been restarted. In response to the takeover by the competitor Edeka, numerous supermarket chains, including Rewe , Metro , Kaufland and Lidl, took the Albi juices out of their range. Due to the further decrease in sales figures, Edeka announced less than a year later, in November 2018, that the plant in Berghülen should be closed in March 2019.

Product range

In the fruit juice sector, Albi offers a wide range of fruit, vegetable and mixed juices. These are offered in reusable glass bottles , soft packs and non-returnable glass bottles.

Cooperations

In 2010 Albi became the "official nutrition partner of FC Bayern Munich ".
