Albrecht Gehse
Albrecht Gehse (* 1955 in Borsdorf near Leipzig ) is a German painter.
Life
He comes from an artistic family; his grandfather is the painter Ludwig G'schrey , his great-grandfather the painter Hans Haustein and his uncle the painter Paran G'schrey . Since 1981 he has been doing freelance work in Leipzig . From 1984 to 1986 he stayed in Moscow and Sofia, where he worked and also exhibited. From 1987 to 1990 he was a master student at the Academy of the Arts of the GDR with Bernhard Heisig and Harry Blume .
Gehse belonged to the Leipzig School before 1990. He has lived in Berlin-Charlottenburg since 1991 , and has his studio on the island of Eiswerder . Since 2003, his portrait of Helmut Kohl has been shown in the "Ancestral Gallery" in the Federal Chancellery .
