Albrecht Schäfer

Albrecht Schäfer (* 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a German sculptor and installation artist .

biography

Albrecht Schäfer grew up in Biberach an der Riß and has lived in Berlin since 1995 . From 1988 to 1995 he studied at the Braunschweig University of Art , at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .

In 2010 he was appointed professor at the Berlin-Weissensee School of Art .

In his work, Albrecht Schäfer deals with simple architectural situations or everyday objects and materials that are alienated with reduced means. At first glance, this often gives rise to room installations, objects, drawings and videos that look abstract and generate unusual poetic associations.

Albrecht Schäfer has been working primarily in the medium of painting since 2014 .
