Albrecht von Giseke

Albrecht Giseke, from 1878 von Giseke, from 1883 Freiherr von Giseke (born March 17, 1822 in Pößneck , † August 28, 1890 in Meiningen ) was a German administrative lawyer and head of government of Saxony-Meiningen.

Life

Giseke studied law at the University of Jena and the University of Leipzig . In 1841 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Jena and the Corps Misnia Leipzig . He was under surveillance because of his proximity to forbidden fraternities. As an assessor at the city and district court in Sonneberg , he joined the judicial service of the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen in 1850 . In 1851 he moved to the State Ministry. In 1856 he became a government and lecturer in the Ministerial Department of the Interior. In 1857 he was given the internal department and in 1870 the finance department. From 1873 to 1890 he was Minister of State . Liberally minded, he supported Georg II (Saxony-Meiningen) in his reformatory efforts. He was also at his side as a confidante with private problems.
