Alchemilla sect. Schizophyllae is a section from the genus Lady's mantle ( Alchemilla )native to Madagascar.

features

They are subshrubs with long shoots and sympodial branching. Vegetative shoots have an open growth, with them vegetative and generative zones alternate. The generative zones form dichasial inflorescences in the leaf axils , while vegetative side shoots develop in the vegetative zones. Only the basal parts of the annual growth are persistent, the rest dies. The plants grow diaxially.

The leaves are palmately lobed with five lobes. The stipules are like leaves and one third of their length fused with the petiole . On the other hand, the stipules are not fused or only up to a tenth of the length. The free parts of the stipules are forked in two parts. In the bud , the young leaf blade is surrounded by its own tute .

The outer sepals are significantly smaller than the sepals . The goblet is not hairy and not narrowed at the top. There is a carpel , the stigma is spherical.

Occurrence

The section is endemic to Madagascar.

Systematics

The section was previously run as a subsection of the Longicaules section , but in 2004 Notov raised it to its own section. The lectotype of the section is Alchemilla bifurcata Hils et Boj. ex Baill.
