Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals (AWAC) is a joint venture in which the Australian Alumina Limited has a 40 percent stake and the US Alcoa has a 60 percent stake.

The company mines bauxite , produces aluminum oxide and operates two aluminum smelters. In 2010 it mined 33 million tons of bauxite, produced 9 million tons of alumina and 490,000 tons of aluminum . According to its own information, it is the world's largest integrated aluminum company, which provides all stages of aluminum production from mining to aluminum smelter and aluminum product manufacture. It employs about 6,000 people mostly in Australia .

AWAC operates the Point Henry aluminum smelter in Geelong in Australia and the Portland aluminum smelter in the industrial suburb of Moolap in Portland , Victoria . The company operates three refineries that produce alumina in Western Australia at Kwinana , Pinjarra and Wagerup , as well as the Huntly Australian bauxite mine and the Willowdale bauxite mine in Western Australia. The aluminum oxide production from the two bauxite mines represents 10 to 11 percent of world production in 2010.

The company operates aluminum rolling mills at Point Henry , Victoria and Yennora , New South Wales . An aluminum recycling plant is operated in Yennora and port facilities are operated in Kwinana and Bunbury . In Western Australia, it operates the Anglesia Power Plant and Anglesia Coal Mines. It owns large latifunds with mining licenses around Pinjarra , Wagerup and Boddington and holds 20 percent of the shares in the Bunbury gas pipeline in Western Australia.
