Aleš Kokot (born October 23, 1979 in Šempeter pri Gorici ) is a Slovenian football player .
Kokot played at ND Gorica from his youth and rose there up to the first division team. In 1997/98 he was used for the first time in the 1st division of Slovenia , but it took three more seasons before he could assert himself in the team. From 2001 the left defender was a regular player in Gorica and was able to celebrate winning the national cup twice in a row. As a result, he also came to numerous appearances in the UEFA Cup.
2004 was Kokot's most successful year so far. With the ND HIT Gorica he won the Slovenian championship. In addition, he was appointed to the national team of his country for the first time on February 18 . In 2005 he was able to repeat the championship title in the club, but he was no longer able to play in the national team, so he decided to move abroad.
From 2005 to 2007 he played in the 2nd Bundesliga for SpVgg Greuther Fürth in Germany , after having been a regular in the first year, he was no longer used in the second year after the 8th matchday.
For the 2007/08 season he moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden , where he signed a two-year contract. After Wehen Wiesbaden was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009, he moved back to his home country at Interblock Ljubljana .
