Aleksandar Blagojević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Александар Благојевић , born January 14, 1971 in Kragujevac ) is general director of the Serbian handball club RK Partizan Belgrade and a former handball player. The 1.95 m tall Serb was mostly used as a middle back player.

Career

Aleksandar Blagojevic started at Radnički Kragujevac with the handball game. In 1987 he moved to RK Partizan Belgrade. In 1992 he went to city rivals RK Red Star Belgrade , but returned after two years to Partizan, with whom he was Yugoslavian champion in 1995. In the 1996/97 season he ran for RK Železničar Niš and won the Yugoslav Cup. He then went to the Spanish league ASOBAL to CB Cantabria Santander , with whom he won the Copa ASOBAL and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1998. He then signed with the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon . In 1999 he returned to Partizan and again won the Yugoslav Cup in 2001. He let his career fade away at the Greek club AS Ionikos Athens, with whom he reached the second round in the 2001/02 EHF Challenge Cup and the third round in the 2002/03 European Cup Winners' Cup.

With the Yugoslav junior selection, Aleksandar Blagojević won the Junior World Championship in 1991. With the Yugoslav national team , he won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 1996 .

After the end of his active career, Blagojević, who graduated from the facet sporta i fizičkog vaspitanja ( FSFV ) in Belgrade , became managing director of the German company Hansgrohe and co-owner of the Serbian-Russian company New-Met . He also worked for the Serbian Handball Federation ( RSS ) and the Belgrade Sports Association ( SSB ). Since July 2007 he has been General Director of Partizan Belgrade.

Blagojević is married and has one daughter. He speaks five foreign languages: English, Greek, Portuguese, Spanish and German.
