Alenka Kürner (born January 31, 1986 in Radovljica ) is a former Slovenian ski racer . In 2005 she became the Slovenian combined champion , won the bronze medal in the slalom of the Universiade 2007 and achieved five top 10 placements in the European Cup .

Career

From the 2001/2002 season, Kürner took part in FIS races and national championships. She started in the European Cup from February 2003 until the end of the 2007/2008 season, but could only score irregularly. As the best European Cup result, she achieved fifth place in the Melchsee-Frutt slalom on January 5th, 2007, and she was among the top ten four times. At Junior World Championships Kürner participated from 2003 to 2006. She achieved several top 20 results and, as the best result, tenth place in the 2006 combination .

At national level, Kürner's greatest success was winning the Slovenian Championship in Combined in 2005. It was only used once in the World Cup : It started in the Maribor slalom on January 23, 2005 , but missed qualifying for the as the 49th of the first round second run of the best 30 by over a second and a half. As a student at the University of Ljubljana , Kürner took part in three Universiades . She reached fourth place in the Super-G in 2005 and third place in the slalom in 2007 . After she had not participated in any other competitions from the 2008/2009 season, she started again at the Universiade in China in February 2009, but this time did not get past twelfth place.
