Alex Koenigsmark

Alex Koenigsmark , occasionally also Königsmark (born May 27, 1944 in Pilsen , German Reich ; † January 23, 2013 in Prague ) was a Czech writer , playwright and screenwriter .

Life

After training as a bricklayer, Alex Koenigsmark graduated from high school in Hořice v Podkrkonoší and then studied at the Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts . He was briefly employed as a dramaturge at FSB Barrandov before he was fired and worked as a freelance writer. He wrote several scripts for television series and television productions. He made his debut as a playwright in 1978 with Edessa and in 1990 he made his debut as a writer with Cesta sekčního šéfa k moři .

He died in Prague on January 23, 2013 at the age of 68. Until his death, he lived for years in Dobřichovice , a small town near Prague.
