Alex Joseph Lubawinski (* 12. May 1950 in Szczecin ) is a German politician of the SPD .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a cutting machine operator, Lubawinski studied pedagogy at the University of Leipzig and became a teacher in Berlin-Pankow . In addition to his professional activities Lubawinski was at the time of turning politically active member of the SPD. Since 1991 he has been chairman of the SPD department (local association) Niederschönhausen and, since merging with another SPD department in Pankow, chairman of the Niederschönhausen-Blankenfelde department. Between 2001 and 2002 he was the first district mayor of the new Berlin district of Pankow , which had emerged from the three former districts of Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg and Weißensee .

18 September 2011 Lubawinski succeeded in constituency Pankow 2 in the 2011 election of the draw as a deputy in the Berlin House of Representatives , where he remained until 2016th Lubawinski is married and has two children.

On March 21, 2012 Lubawinski received the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany in particular for his services to German-Polish cooperation .
