Alex Parche (born September 16, 1952 in Hanover , † March 12, 2009 in Cologne ) was a German guitarist.

biography

In 1964 Alex Parche moved from Hanover to Cologne. He recorded his first demo in 1976. In 1977 he merged with King Size Dick to form the duo Dick & Alex. The single Hey, get in (1977), the debut album Dick & Alex and the second work pigs in white west were released . In 1980 Parche switched to the Zeltinger Band , with whom he gained some live experience. In 1982 he then recorded the Breslau LP "Volksmusik" together with Jutta Weinhold .

In 1983 he started his solo career, first under the name The Alex Parche Band and later as the Alex Parche Project . The debut album Adrenalin was released in the same year. Together with Herman Rarebell (ex- Scorpions ) he hired himself out as a studio musician in Hanover.

In 1986 the Zeltinger Band reformed and Alex Parche was back in the line-up. He stayed with the group as guitarist until 1990 and played on two studio albums and one live album. In 1992 he reanimated his project and recorded a self-titled album with the singers Udo Dirkschneider , Fernando Garcia (Ex- Victory ), Ted Bullet ( Thunderhead ), Leon Goewie ( Vengeance ) and singer Amazone. In 1993 the album Son of Healer followed with the same line-up. With Joe Bridgewater ( Radio Moscow ) another singer was won for the project. In 1994 the third album followed with the same line of singers plus new entry Dougie White (later with Rainbow and Yngwie Malmsteen ). The project was particularly successful in Japan and was also able to book several TV appearances in German-speaking countries, including in the opening act for Doro Pesch and Fischer-Z .

In 1995 he took over the guitar role again with the Zeltinger Band and appeared as the producer of the 1996 album Faktor-Z . He then worked again with King Size Dick and brought out some solo albums.

In 2005 Parche went on a trip to the carnival and joined the follow-up band of the Krageknöpp, NULL221, together with Zeltinger drummer Robbie Vondenhoff. With the musicians Herbert Reinhard, Andreas Tsangarakis and Michael Hahn, later Volker Fennert, he produced an album and two maxi CDs.

In 2007 the guitarist suffered a stroke that ended his active music career. Friends and acquaintances founded the Alex Parche Charity Project to support the professional musician financially. He died on March 12, 2009 of pneumonia , leaving behind a wife and two daughters.

A last studio album by Dick & Alex was released in 2009. It was finished the day before his stroke.
