Alexander "Alex" Russell (born December 11, 1987 in Brisbane , Queensland ) is an Australian actor .

Early years

Alex Russell was born in Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland, as the son of surgeon Dr. Andrew Russell and his wife, the nurse Frances Russell, were born and later grew up as the eldest of three children with a brother and sister in Rockhampton . In Rockhampton he attended grammar school , which in Germany is roughly equivalent to grammar school, which he graduated in 2004. He then attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney , which he graduated in 2008.

Acting career

Alex Russel made his acting debut in 2010 when he played the role of Zack in the Australian thriller Wasted on the Young . This was followed by several short film engagements before he played Matt Garetty in the science fiction film Chronicle - What are you capable of? was seen. Other film roles followed as Ryan in Bait 3D - Sharks in the Supermarket , as Seeker Burns in Souls and as Billy Nolan in the US horror film Carrie , the remake of the 1976 released Carrie - Satan's youngest daughter .

In films like Believe Me , Unbroken and Cut Snake , Russel was able to take on major supporting and leading roles, before he finally found a foothold in Hollywood in 2017 through the roles of Kevin Gale and Andrew Ashcraft from the films Jungle and No Way Out . Also in 2017 he took on one of the leading roles as Officer Jim Street in the CBS series SWAT .
