Alexander Guskov ( Russian Александр Александрович Гуськов * 26. November 1976 in Gorky , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player , who for many years at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl , the Avangard Omsk and Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Continental Hockey League , respectively the super league was active.
Career
Alexander Guskow began his career as a hockey player at HK Traktor Chelyabinsk , for which he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 1998/99 season . During his rookie year he switched to their league rivals HK Lada Tolyatti . Then the defender received a contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for which he was on the ice for two years, before he was active for Lokomotive Yaroslavl from 2001 to 2004 . With Yaroslavl he was Russian champion in 2002 and 2003 . In addition, the Russian was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2003 in the seventh round as a total of 200th player from the Columbus Blue Jackets .
After Guskow had started the 2004/05 season at Ak Bars Kazan , he was handed over to the HK Awangard Omsk during the season , with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2005. After a year and a half at Awangard, the left-shot returned to HK Lada Tolyatti for the 2006/07 season. He was then obliged by Lokomotive Yaroslavl, for which he played in the newly founded Continental Hockey League until the end of the 2010/11 season . In May 2011 Guskow was signed by HK CSKA Moscow . After 67 KHL games for CSKA, Guskow was exchanged for Maxim Kondratjew from Lokomotive Yaroslavl in October 2012 .
In May 2013 Guskow returned to HK Traktor Chelyabinsk before moving to Severstal Cherepovets in November 2013 . There he was only under contract for about a month and was then without a club. In October 2014 he tried a comeback at Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , which did not succeed. Therefore, he finally ended his career in August 2015.
