Alexander Chaplin

Alexander Chaplin (* 20th March 1971 in New York City as Alexander Gaberman ) is an American actor . He was best known for his role as James Hobert III. in the sitcom Chaos City .

Chaplin was trained at the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in New York. After he had taken on first guest roles in various television series in the early 1990s, he got a supporting role in the film Jim Carroll - In the streets of New York alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1995 . In the same year he made his breakthrough as a serial actor with the ABC- produced comedy series Chaos City (in the original Spin City ), in which he was part of the nine-member cast of the first four seasons. In the series, which deals with the chaotic and ludicrous complexities of everyday life in the Mayor's office of New York City, Chaplin played the role of James Hobert , the mayor's youthful, naive speechwriter until 2000 .

Since leaving the series, Chaplin has mainly taken on guest roles in series such as Scrubs , Law & Order and Elementary .
