Alexander Crailsheim

Alexander Crailsheim (* 18th May 1806 in Frankfurt am Main , † 8. September 1880 ibid ) was a physician and politician of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Alexander Crailsheim was the son of the Jewish mathematician Abraham Crailsheim (1769–1840) and his wife Golda Rindskopf. He studied medicine and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. He then lived as a general practitioner in Frankfurt am Main. On October 25, 1848, he was elected to the Constituent Assembly of the Free City of Frankfurt . With him, Heinrich Schwarzschild and Carl Leopold Goldschmidt , three Jews belonged to the assembly. He was elected to the Legislative Body in 1850 .
