Alexander Dierks (born October 2, 1987 in Bietigheim-Bissingen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been Secretary General of the CDU regional association of Saxony since December 9, 2017 .

Profession and political honorary office

Dierks was born in Baden-Württemberg , but has lived in Saxony since childhood . After graduating from high school in Dresden-Klotzsche in 2006, he studied European Studies (Bachelor of Arts) and completed a degree in Politics in Europe (Master of Arts) at the Technical University of Chemnitz . He joined the Junge Union (JU) in 2004 and was regional chairman of the JU Saxony and Lower Silesia from January 22, 2011 to December 10, 2017 . In 2008 he became a member of the CDU. In 2013 he became a member of the state board and deputy district chairman of the CDU Chemnitz. From 2013 until his election to the Saxon state parliament, he worked as a research assistant and office manager for the Bundestag member Carsten Körber (CDU).

At the state party conference on December 9, 2017, Dierks was elected Secretary General of the CDU Saxony with 83.3% of the delegate's votes.

Electoral offices

He has been a city councilor in Chemnitz since the local elections in Saxony in May 2014.

In the state elections in Saxony on August 31, 2014, he ran as a direct candidate for the CDU in the constituency of Chemnitz 2 and was elected to the Saxon state parliament with 32.39% of the votes via the direct mandate . Dierks is the youth policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in Saxony and a member of the state youth welfare committee. In addition, he is a member of the working groups for social affairs, science and home affairs of the parliamentary group as well as the committees for social affairs and science. In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he was again elected constituency member in the Chemnitz 2 constituency with 29.8 percent of the direct votes.
