Alexander Essfeld
Alexander Essfeld (born January 7, 1874 in Düsseldorf ; † September 22, 1939 there ) was a German marine painter from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Essfeld studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . In 1892 and 1893 he attended the elementary class there, in 1894 the preparatory classes and the class for ornamentation and decoration with Adolf Schill . Then he attended the landscape class of Eugen Dücker . He also became a private student of Andreas Dirks , whose interest in marine painting he shared. The painter Albert Engstfeld was one of the friends . Essfeld was a member of the Düsseldorf artists' association Malkasten . In 1903 and 1904 Essfeld sent the Great Berlin Art Exhibition .
