Alexander Giese

Alexander M. Giese (born November 21, 1921 in Vienna ; † January 19, 2016 there ) was an Austrian writer and well-known Freemason .

Alexander Giese was an employee of the ORF , author of prose , poetry , film and radio play . From 1990 to 1997 he was President of the Austrian PEN Club and from 1975 to 1986 Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Austria. In 1982 a neo-Nazi attack was carried out on him.

Giese died on January 19, 2016 at the age of 94 in Vienna and was buried in an honorary grave in the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 40, number 196).
