Alexander Evgenyevich Mogilewski

Alexander Jewgenjewitsch Mogilewski ( Russian Александр Евгеньевич Могилевский , Eng. Transliteration Alexander Evgenevich Mogilevsky , scientific. Transliteration Aleksandr Evgen'evič Mogilevskij , * 1977 in Odessa , Ukrainian SSR ) is a classic of Russian pianist. He is the son of the Russian pianist Yevgeny Mogilewski .

life and work

Mogilewski studied piano with Yevgeny Timakin at the Central Moscow Music School for gifted children and young people . He later continued these studies with Lev Naumov at the Moscow Conservatory .

Alexander Mogilewski won his first major piano competition at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow in 1992. In 1997 he won the Davidoff Prize in Hamburg.

In addition to his concert activities, Mogilewski is involved as a music teacher. From 2001 to 2010 he worked as an assistant professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels , from 2011 to 2017 in the same position at the Conservatory in Mons . He currently serves at the Oberlin Conservatory at Oberlin College in the United States.
