Alexander Knuchel

Alexander Knuchel (born December 18, 1869 in Tscheppach , † January 15, 1961 in Evilard , reformed , resident in Tscheppach) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Alexander Knuchel was born on December 18, 1869 as the son of the farmer Niklaus Knuchel in Tscheppach. Shortly before 1900 he took over the Biel book printing company Ernst Kuhn . In 1900 he founded the writing books and paper goods factory in Biel , which has been run under the name Biella-Neher HOLDING AG since 1945 . In 1909 the new factory was built on Kontrollstrasse. Knuchel has been a member of the company's board of directors since 1923 , and as its president and delegate from 1929 .

Alexander Knuchel played an important role in the economic life of the Biel region, including as President of the Board of Directors of Volksbank Biel and as a member of the board of the Trade and Industry Association and the Bern Chamber of Commerce.

Alexander Knuchel, who was married to Hedwig, the daughter of the watch manufacturer and entrepreneur Anton Müller, died on January 15, 1961, one month after turning 91 in Evilard.
