Alexander Kolmakow ( Kazakh Александр Колмаков ; born December 12, 1966 ) is a former Kazakh ski jumper .

Career

Kolmakow made his international debut, although already 27 years old, with the start of the ski jumping Continental Cup for the 1993/94 season. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , he jumped from the normal hill to 46th and from the large hill to 48th place. Almost two years later, on December 28, 1995, he made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup in Oberhof . As 43rd, however, he remained far behind the world's best and was without any points. With the 1995/96 season Kolmakow denied his most successful Continental Cup season, but he did not come above 91st place in the overall standings.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1997 in Trondheim , Norway , he surprised as a 30-year-old with a good 18th place on the large hill, after only reaching 29th place on the normal hill.

In two individual World Cups at the beginning of the 1997/98 season in Predazzo and Harrachov , he again missed a leap into the top of the world. He ended his active ski jumping after the 1997/98 season, which he finished again in the Continental Cup in 127th place overall. Before that, he started as part of the Kazakh team at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . After ranking 58th on the normal hill and 46th on the large hill, he reached 11th place in the team event together with Dmitri Tschwykow , Pawel Gaiduk and Stanislaw Filimonow .
