Stanislaw Gennadjewitsch Filimonow ( Russian Станислав Геннадьевич Филимонов ; born June 7, 1979 in Alma-Ata ) is a former Kazakh ski jumper .

Career

Filimonow completed his first international jumping at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1997 in Trondheim . With 52nd place on the normal hill and 56th place on the large hill, the results were rather disappointing for him. On January 11, 1998, he competed in his first World Cup competition in Ramsau am Dachstein and finished in 50th place.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano in 1998 he was the youngest participant of the Kazakh team at the age of 18 and achieved 32nd place on the normal hill and 25th place on the large hill. In team jumping he was 13th together with Dmitri Tschwykow , Pawel Gaiduk and Alexander Kolmakow .

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein , Filimonow came 53rd on the large hill and 63rd on the normal hill. In 2000 and 2001 he was able to jump into the top 10 in the Lahti and Kuopio team world cup competitions and reached 9th place with the team. At the jumping for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti, however, he only reached 11th and last place with the team on the large and normal hill. In the individual competition on the normal hill, he ended up in 43rd place. On December 15, 2001 Filimonow succeeded in the World Cup jumping in Engelberg with 28th place for the first time in the world cup points. A week later in Predazzo he was able to jump into the points again and thus ended the 2001/02 World Cup season as his most successful in 74th place in the overall standings.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , he achieved surprisingly good results with 32nd place on the normal hill and 30th place on the large hill. With the team, however, he was again only 13th in the team competition. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme , he was again in the team for Kazakhstan. Together with Pawel Gaiduk , Maxim Polunin and Radik Schaparow , he finished 11th.

On March 8, 2003 Filimonow ended his active ski jumping career after a ninth place in the team world cup in Oslo .
