Alexander Mlasowsky

Alexander Mlasowsky (born November 19, 1962 in Homberg (Efze) ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Alexander Mlasowsky passed the Abitur at the Burgdorfer Gymnasium and then initially wanted to study paleontology . From 1983 he studied classical archeology, ancient history , ancient oriental studies as well as prehistory and early history at the universities of Hamburg and Heidelberg and completed his studies with a doctorate (summa cum laude). For his work he received the “Dr. Helmut and Hannelore Greve Foundation for Science and Culture of the 'Joachim Jungius Society of Sciences at the University of Hamburg' ”. From 1990 to 1992 he was a research assistant at the University of Hamburg, lecturer there in 1993/1994, in 1996 at the University of Rostock and again in 1998 in Hamburg. From 1988 to 1995 Mlasowsky was a freelancer at the Kestner Museum in Hanover , and from 1992 to 1997 at the Archaeological Institute at the University of Hamburg. Between 1993 and 1997 he was employed as part of the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum project at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . Since 1998 he has been self-employed with his company Artacon - Art & Archeology Consulting , which he is managing director.

Mlasowsky deals with Greek architecture , Latin epigraphy , Roman history , ancient portraits , historical reliefs and Roman numismatics . During his time at the Kestner Museum in Hanover, he wrote several catalogs on the collection of antiquities, including a volume from the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum Germany . He works in two directions with his company: firstly, he is involved in public relations, accompanies you on educational trips, gives lectures, gives seminars and working groups and curates exhibitions. The second focus is on taking care of private collections, which also includes taking care of auctions.
