Ludovik Kendi
Ludovik Kendi (* 1976 in Transylvania , Romania ; also Ludovic Kendi ; actually Lajos Kendi ) is a Romanian-Hungarian opera singer ( bel canto - baritone ) who lives and works in Austria .
Life
Ludovik Kendi studied between 1998 and 2003 singing at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj . While still a student in Cluj, Kendi was made a soloist at the State Opera Cluj-Napoca (Opera Naţională Română Cluj-Napoca).
In 2003 he moved to the Mozarteum in Salzburg , where he completed his vocal studies under Boris Bakow and Horiana Brănişteanu in 2007 . While still studying singing in Salzburg, Kendi sang under the musical direction of Simon Rattle in Nikolaus Lehnhoff's Fidelio production at the Salzburg Easter Festival .
In 2009 he was able to sing the role of Tonio in Ruggero Leoncavallos Pagliacci at the side of Giuseppe Giacomini at the Teatro Comunale di Adria (Italy) .
In 2010, Kendi sang the role of Ruprecht in Philipp Harnoncourt's production of Sergej Prokofiev's Angel from Fire at the Odeon Theater in Vienna .
In 2011 he sang the title role in Nikolaus Schapfl's opera Caravaggio . In the same year he took on the roles of Ortel and Kothner in Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Tyrolean Festival Erl , directed by Gustav Kuhn . It was there that Kendi met Oskar Hillebrandt and not only completed a master class with him, but has also maintained a close friendship with the Kammersänger since then.
In addition, Ludovik Kendi has been a guest of the Košice State Theater (Štátne divadlo Košice) for 5 years and has already performed there in the roles of Lescaut ( Manon Lescaut ), Rigoletto ( Rigoletto ), Nabucco ( Nabucco ), Giorgio Germont ( La traviata ), Il conte Almaviva ( Le nozze di Figaro ), Marquis de la Force ( Dialogues des Carmélites ), Gianni Schicchi ( Gianni Schicchi ) and Count Luna ( Il trovatore ) shine.
In the summer of 2016, Kendi took on one of the leading roles at the Miskolc Opera Festival (Hungary) in the world premiere of Tamás Beischer-Matyó's new opera Kreatív Kapcsolatok .
In 2016 he made his debut as Iago in Verdi's Otello at the Romanian State Opera.
Kendi has already worked under conductors such as Elisabeth Fuchs , Reinhard Seehafer , Jonas Alber , Pietro Perini, Alberto Triola, Cristian Mandeal , Petre Sbârcea, Sándor Végh and many more.
Ludovik Kendi has been a member of the men's quartet cantoSonor since 2012 . Founded during the Tyrolean Festival Erl , cantoSonor toured in 2016 with their programs men full and full of sound in German-speaking countries.
Awards
- 2003: Special prize at the Hariclea Darclée international singing competition in Romania.
