Alexander Pestel (born May 17, 1925 in Auerbach / Vogtl. , † January 14, 2013 in Weißenburg in Bavaria ) was a German director at RIAS Berlin.

Life

Alexander Pestel came as the son of the businessman Theodor Kurt Pestel and his wife Helene Rosa Pestel nee. Meyer in Auerbach in Vogtland. On March 10, 1943, he was called up for military service, which he performed as a war reporter (broadcasting group). From May 13, 1945 to May 19, 1947 he was a British prisoner of war in Italy. After the imprisonment he went to Berlin, where he met his wife Jutta nee. Stroff married, with whom he had two children.

Alexander Pestel worked as a director at Rias Berlin from May 1949 to July 1987. Most recently, he was head of political word production and chief director for the live broadcasts program under program director Herbert Kundler .

After his retirement, Pestel moved to Pappenheim in the Altmühltal .
