Alexander Stolz (born October 13, 1983 in Pforzheim ) is a German football goalkeeper and coach .
Career
He proudly began his career in 2004 in the Regionalliga Süd at FC Nöttingen . In summer 2005 he moved to the second team at VfB Stuttgart . A year later, Stolz was loaned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . After his return in June 2007 he became the third goalkeeper for the VfB first team. From summer 2008 to summer 2009 he was the second goalkeeper. On March 5, 2009, Stolz extended his contract with VfB until June 2012. In the first half of the 2009/10 season, after four games with Sven Ulreich , Stolz swapped his place as the substitute goalkeeper for Jens Lehmann with the place of the regular goalkeeper of the second team in the 3rd . League . When Lehmann was banned in December 2009 because of a red card, Stolz's competitor Ulreich sat on the bench and established himself as the second goalkeeper and, after Lehmann's career ended in summer 2010, succeeded him; After the signing of Marc Ziegler, Proud was once again the Bundesliga team's third goalkeeper.
On January 24, 2012, after the premature termination of his contract with VfB Stuttgart, Stolz moved to the second division club Karlsruher SC , which was threatened with relegation at the time , but did not appear in the league under the new coach Markus Kauczinski . After six months, his contract was terminated.
After a year without a club, Stolz received a contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim until the end of the season on August 21, 2013. He had already kept fit with the Hoffenheim U23 team since the second half of the 2012/13 season. He made his Bundesliga debut on April 6, 2014 (29th matchday) in a 1-1 draw in the away game against Hertha BSC , when he came on for the injured Koen Casteels in the 73rd minute. Stolz's contract in Hoffenheim runs until 2019.
For the 2020/21 season , Stolz's player contract was extended until June 30, 2021. However, he is no longer part of the professional squad, but is now part of the second team. In addition, he became the goalkeeping coach of the C1 (U15) and C2 juniors (U14).
