Alexander Velcoff

Alexander Velcoff (born March 23, 1916 in Ohio , † March 3, 1990 in Ventura , California) was an American film technician and costume designer . At the Academy Awards in 1950 he was awarded an Oscar for technical merit .

Life

Velcoff was honored with a Technical Achievement Award at the Academy Awards 1950 "for the application to production of the infrared photographic evaluator" ("For the application to production of the infrared photographic evaluator").

In 1957, Velcoff starred in the drama The DI by and with Jack Webb in costume. From 1959 to 1975 he worked as a costume designer for 353 episodes of the western series Smoking Colts . In the western Der Galgenbaum (1959) with Gary Cooper , Maria Schell and Karl Malden , he took care of the costumes for the male actors, as well as in the 1971 television film The Face of Fear with Ricardo Montalbán and Jack Warden .
