Alexander Wassiljewitsch Terentjew ( Russian Александр Васильевич Терентьев ; * May 19, 1999 ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Terentjew started in Vershina Tjoi for the first time in the Eastern-Europe-Cup in November 2014 and finished 161st place over 10 km freestyle and 123rd place in sprint. At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2017 in Erzurum , he won the bronze medal in the sprint. He also came seventh over 7.5 km classic and sixth over 10 km freestyle. The following year he won the bronze medal with the relay at the Junior World Ski Championships in Goms . He also achieved 13th place in the sprint and tenth place over 10 km classic. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season he won his first race in the Eastern Europe Cup with a victory in the sprint in Vershina Tjoi and ran into second place in the sprint in Krasnogorsk . He made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in January 2019 in Dresden . There he got his first World Cup points with 17th place in the sprint. At the following Junior World Ski Championships in Lahti he won over 10 km freestyle and with the relay the silver medal and in the sprint the gold medal. At the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk he won the gold medal in the sprint and together with Christina Mazokina in the team sprint. The following year he was fourth in the sprint at the U23 World Championships in Oberwiesenthal .
