Alexander Wienand

Alexander Wienand (* 1982 ) is a German pianist and composer who has emerged in both jazz and classical music.

Live and act

Wienand began his training as a classical concert pianist with Marianne Bender, Friedemann Rieger and Klaus Eidmann. He then attended the Musikhochschule Würzburg and completed his studies with diplomas in jazz piano with Tine Schneider and classical piano with Eva Maria Mai . He deepened his education with master classes with Jacky Terrasson , Misha Mengelberg , Barry Harris , Hubert Nuss , Begona Uriarte , Karl Hermann Mrongovius and André Marchand . Wienand lives and works as a pianist, composer and teacher for piano, jazz piano, theory / ear training in Berlin.

Wienand was involved in three albums with the chamber music ensemble and piano duo Onda Verde around Eva Maria May. From 2010 he released two albums with the band Ebeneia Gold & Art Zentral , to which, in addition to singer levelia Gold, Dirk Rumig, Moritz Cartheuser, Constantin Herzog, Daniel Prätzlich and Markus Thalheimer belonged. With his trio, which includes Felix Himmler and Tobias Schirmer and which was awarded the Bavarian Art Prize in the Music and Dance category in 2010 , he released his debut album in 2012. He also worked in a duo with the pianist Marco Netzbandt and the saxophonist Markus Busch.
