Alexander von Buch

Georg Friedrich Adolf Alexander von Buch (-Stolpe) (born June 5, 1814 in Berlin , † February 5, 1885 in Stolpe ) was a Prussian landowner and politician.

origin

Alexander von Buch comes from the Brandenburg nobility family von Buch , who were wealthy north of Berlin and in the Uckermark . His parents were Georg Karl Vollrath von Buch (1767–1836) and his wife Wilhelmine, née von Arnim (1781–1872). His father was Herr auf Dobberzin near Angermünde, a Prussian chamberlain as well as chief master of ceremonies and castle captain in Schwedt .

Life

Alexander von Buch was the owner of several estates: Stolpe (Angermünde district), Gellmersdorf, Dobberzin, Wilmersdorf, Neuhaus, Flemsdorf, Schöneberg (with Alt-Galow) and Carmzow (with Hedwigshof).

He was also the castle captain of Schwedt / Oder and the Prussian chamberlain. From 1860 until his death in 1885 he was district administrator in Angermünde . From 1866 to 1870 (IX and X electoral terms) he was an elected member of the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1871 until his death in 1885 he was a member of the Prussian manor house on presentation of the old and fortified real estate in the Uckermark district. In 1885 he was awarded the star for the Order of the Crown, 2nd class, and was a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

family

Buch married Veronika Freiin von Steinäcker (1816–1873), a daughter of District Administrator Karl von Steinaecker , on September 12, 1844 in Rosenfelde . The couple had several children:

  • Johann (1845–1914), member of the Prussian mansion and royal chamberlain and castle captain von Schwedt ⚭ 1876 Marie Freiin von dem Bussche-Ippenburg called von Kessel (1857-1837)
  • Leopold (1850–1927), member of parliament
  • Adolf Friedrich (1852–1902), Prussian Rittmeister
  • Georg (1856–1924), member of parliament
  • Karl (* 1860), Secret Legation Councilor in Guatemala
