Dobberzin with about 470 inhabitants has been a district of Angermünde since 1974 . The village is located on both sides of the federal highway 2 from Angermünde to Schwedt on the southeast edge of the Uckermark in northeast Brandenburg .

The Dobberzin area is hilly and characterized by wide fields, lakes and meadows. The largest lake is the Mündesee , the eastern tip of which is surrounded by the village and a weekend house settlement. The lakes in the immediate vicinity include the Petschsee , Dobberziner See and Mudrowsee .

history

The place name Dobberzin probably goes back to the Slavic word "dobr-sin", which means something like "place of a Wenceslas".

It is assumed that the town was founded around 1250, and Dobberzin is already documented as a church village in 1314. Between 1480 and 1625 the von Greiffenberg owners were Dobberzins, and from 1625 to 1872 the von Buch owners . The knight's seat burned down in 1687, causing the associated farms and the brewery jug to fall into desolation .

Before the Thirty Years' War (1578), Dobberzin had 16 farmers, 13 cossets , 1 blacksmith, 1 shepherd and 1 shepherd. During the war and the plague , the population of the place fell sharply in the following years. It was not until long after the war (1734) that these numbers could be approximated again, at that time there were 10 farmers, 13 kossaeans, 2 houseguests, 1 blacksmith, 1 shepherd and 3 shepherds.

A population of 260 is recorded for 1861. After the Second World War, around 700 hectares of land were expropriated and settled by new farmers. An LPG was founded in 1955 .

Incorporation

On January 1, 1974, Dobberzin was incorporated into Angermünde. Its population at that time was 320.

Field stone church

The Dobberziner Feldsteinkirche dates from the second half of the 13th century. The round window above the portal in the west facade is rarely found in village churches in Uckermark. The roof tower is clad with boards, the bell came from Stettin in 1885. In addition to the preserved baptism fragment from the time the church was built, the pulpit altar with its elaborate carvings is remarkable.
