Leopold von Buch (administrative officer)

Leopold Karl Vollrath von Buch-Carmzow (born July 17, 1850 in Stolpe an der Oder near Angermünde , † January 18, 1927 in Berlin-Lichterfelde ) was a German administrative officer, manor owner and member of parliament.

Life

Leopold von Buch was born as the son of the manor owner and parliamentarian Alexander von Buch . He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin and the Albertus-Universität Königsberg . In 1870 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. He became a councilor in Magdeburg . As such he went to Aurich in 1891 and to Frankfurt (Oder) in 1893 . In 1895 he was promoted to senior councilor. He then became the chief electoral director in Brandenburg. He was appointed to the Real Privy Council with the award of the Honorary Title of Excellence .

Von Buch sat in the Prussian House of Representatives from 1890 to 1895 and in the Prussian mansion from 1901 to 1918 . He was a member of the German Conservative Party , of which he was a member from 1906 onwards. He was canon of St. Peter and Paul (Brandenburg an der Havel) and an honorary member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg. The Prussian administrative officer and parliamentarian Georg von Buch was his brother.
