Alexander Maximilian Friedrich Maria Freiherr von Moreau (born October 23, 1860 in Taufkirchen (Vils) ; † February 27, 1937 in Münchshofen , Upper Palatinate ) was a royal Bavarian , then a free state Bavarian government official .

Life

He was the son of the hunting scene and horse painter Friedrich August von Moreau (1814-1885), master of Schwindegg Castle and Taufkirchen Castle .

In 1899, Moreau began his professional career as a royal chamberlain and district administrator . From 1900 he was district administrator (district chairman) of Rottenburg an der Laaber , where he must have been promoted to government councilor.

In 1906 he was named Bechtolsheim district administrator in Bad Kissingen as the official successor to Hermann von Mauchenheim and at the same time bath commissioner of the state bath there , which he remained until after 1927 after the dissolution of the Bavarian kingdom (1918) and the establishment of the Bavarian Free State - at least from 1922 with the rank of senior government councilor . From 1916 to 1922 he was provisional president of the Bad Kissingen golf club . From 1924 to 1927 Moreau was chairman of the "General German Baths Association", the umbrella organization for all German health resorts and state spas.

When at the beginning of 1926 the community of Hausen near Bad Kissingen had still not built a water pipe for their own water supply, Moreau asked them in February to join the water supply group "Aschacher Gruppe", which failed due to lack of money (for details see: Hausen (Bad Kissingen) ).

In 1911, Moreau acquired Münchshofen Castle for 120,000 marks with all inventory and real estate.

Moreau married Therese von Loë (1870-1951) around 1895 , the second of five daughters of the imperial and royal Austrian chamberlain and landlord Kaspar von Loë (1835-1914) and Eugenia von Goltstein (1839-1880) and granddaughter of the landlord and district administrator Clemens von Loë . The couple had two children, Eugenie (1897–1980) and Maximilian (1900–1980).
