Life

Alexandra Kauka grew up in Germany and from 1967 worked as a model in Germany, Europe and the USA. In 1970 she married the industrialist Walter Nolff , but it soon broke up. From this marriage a son was born. From 1972 she owned two galleries in Munich.

In 1975, Alexandra Kauka met Rolf Kauka at a business lunch, who two days later proposed to her, which she accepted at the end of 1975. From 1975 to 1982 she lived with Rolf Kauka on the Eichenhof estate (called "Caucasus") in Zolling near Munich. In 1982 Alexandra Kauka and her husband emigrated to the USA. On the advice of his doctors, Rolf Kauka had to stay in a climate that was as constant as possible because he was seriously ill. The couple first settled in Palm Beach , Florida , and a short time later bought a plantation in Thomasville , Georgia .

In the following years, Alexandra Kauka became her husband's most important advisor and also formally became Vice-President of Promedia, Inc. , the management company for the comic characters Rolf Kazier (such as Fix and Foxi , Bussi Bär and Pauli) that emerged from the Munich publishing house . At the end of 1999 Alexandra Kauka was formally president of Promedia, Inc. , while Rolf Kauka withdrew to the creative part.

After Rolf Caucasus death in 2000, she inherited the fortune and the company. In 2002 she founded the joint venture Kauka Promedia, Inc. with Michael Semrad and his company Andromeda Central Community Medien GmbH to strengthen the marketing of the Kauka comic characters. At the request of Alexandra Kauka, this joint venture was renamed Rolf Kaucas Comics on July 1, 2008 in order to draw more attention to Rolf Kauka as the creator of the cartoon characters.

Alexandra Kauka is a member of the “Board of Directors” of the New York Metropolitan Opera . In 2007 she received the Erwin Piscator Award for her commitment to the performing arts .

In 2005 she sold an underutilized portion of the plantation to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources; this nature reserve has since been called the Rolf and Alexandra Kauka Wildlife Management Area . Alexandra Kauka has been married to Sterling Morton Hamill since May 28, 2011 .
