Alexandru Marky , also written Alexandru Marki , (born August 5, 1919 in Arad , Austria-Hungary , † December 4, 1969 ) was a Romanian football player . He played 92 games in the Divizia A . The goalkeeper won the Romanian championship in 1947, 1948 and 1950 with UTA Arad .

Career

Marky joined Kolozsvári AC in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság in 1942 . He finished the 1943/44 season with his team in third place and was defeated by Ferencváros Budapest in the cup final of the same year .

After the end of the Second World War , he joined ITA Arad . With ITA he was able to win the Romanian championship in the 1946/47 season. He was able to repeat this success a year later and secure the double with his team by winning the cup final in 1948 against CFR Timișoara . In the season 1948/49 he could not build on this achievement. His team returned to the top flight in the 1950 season and Marky won his third league title.

Early 1952 left Marky Arad and switched to Metalul Braşov in the Divizia B . At the end of 1952 he ended his career.

National team

Marky made four appearances in the Romanian national team. He made his debut on May 2, 1948 in the first game of the Balkan Cup 1948 against Albania , when he came on in the 81st minute for Róbert Szádowsky . In the second tournament game on June 6, 1948 against Hungary , he was on the starting line-up in the 9-0 defeat. Then the new national coach Iuliu Baratky gave Traian Ionescu preference in goal. It was not until May 14, 1950 that he returned to the national team in a 3: 3 friendly match against Poland . In the 1-1 draw against Czechoslovakia a week later, he was used for the last time.
